Naturally gluten free and low in sugar, this banana and berry smoothie bowl is perfect for a healthy summer breakfast. For a long time, I was in denial, I thought a smoothie bowl will never fill me up as breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But after a series of health issues, I finally tried a few recipes and my opinion has changed forever. Here is one of the easiest smoothie bowl recipes ever – free from gluten and dairy.

Naturally gluten free and low in sugar, this banana and berry smoothie bowl is perfect for a healthy summer breakfast. One of the easiest smoothie bowl recipes ever – free from gluten and dairy.

Ingredients

  • 2 smaller or 1 medium bananas (frozen for a thicker consistency)

  • 1/4 cup frozen raspberries

  • 1/2 cup frozen cherries or blueberries

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 1 tbsp almond butter

  • Toppings (can be swapped to any other seeds and/or berries)
  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries

  • 1 tsp chia seeds

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

  • 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds

Directions

  • Just add all ingredients to a blender (I use a hand blender) and blend until the ingredients are smooth and nicely combined.
  • Pour or scoop to a bowl and add your favourite toppings, for example fresh berries, chia, pumpkin and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Add 2 tbsp of kefir for a healthy kick in the gut
